Robin O’Donnell Architects have won a number of housing design awards for both new home designs and home remodelling projects.
2018 Shipshape
NZIA Auckland Award for Architecture
Awards Jury Citation : The Residential 1 heritage constraints for this project have been very well handled. The façade expresses the past, while the design takes advantage of the views. Internally, the plan is subtle and relaxed, and allows a flow between clearly defined areas without enclosure.
2013 House of Steel and Light
NZIA Auckland Award for Architecture
Awards Jury Citation : This Arts and Crafts house has been given a highly successful makeover. The skilfully handled alterations have addressed the previously poorly linked, under-utilised internal spaces, while also paying respect to the heritage qualities of the building. The result is an elegant arrangement of light-filled, inter-connected living spaces which have new relationships to the garden, courtyard and street, and provide an eminently more enjoyable home.

NZIA NZ Award for Architecture
Awards Jury Citation : An extensive addition to a 1923 Arts and Crafts exemplar, the almost seamless additions provide the living spaces that the original house aspired to, while attending to the original in form and composition. Beautifully and faithfully detailed throughout, the alterations bring much needed light and relationship to outdoors by creating a re-entrant court at the heart of the building and opening to a beautiful tree-scaped southern outlook.
